To maintain the freshness and quality of your Ham Wiltshire Joint, it is recommended to store it in the refrigerator at a temperature of 32°F to 40°F (0°C to 4°C). Keep the joint in its original packaging or wrap it tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap to prevent any exposure to air. Stored correctly, the Ham Wiltshire Joint can maintain its freshness for up to 7-10 days. If you wish to extend its shelf life, you can also freeze the joint. Wrap it tightly in freezer-safe packaging, such as heavy-duty aluminum foil or freezer bags, and place it in the freezer. Frozen Ham Wiltshire Joint can retain its quality for approximately 1-2 months. When ready to use, thaw the joint in the refrigerator before serving.

To recycle the gel packs, simply cut a corner and dispose of the contents through your normal domestic waste system, as the gel isn’t harmful to the environment. Better still, reuse them by storing in the freezer and chilling other products. The only component from our packaging that can’t be recycled are the foil liners which need to be go in household waste; the poly bags meat comes in needs to go in plastic recycling.

Here’s a simple and delicious serving suggestion for your cooked Wiltshire Ham Joint:

Maple Glazed Ham:


  • 1 kg cooked Wiltshire Ham Joint
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Cloves (optional, for decoration)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)


  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar to create the glaze.
  3. Place the cooked Wiltshire Ham Joint in a roasting pan. If it’s not pre-scored, you can use a sharp knife to make diagonal cuts on the surface.
  4. Brush the ham generously with the maple glaze, ensuring it gets into the cuts for extra flavor.
  5. If desired, insert cloves into the ham for decoration and added aroma.
  6. Roast the ham in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, basting with the glaze every 10 minutes, until the surface is caramelized and golden brown.
  7. Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
  9. Slice and serve the maple-glazed Wiltshire Ham Joint with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp green salad.
