Wiltshire Ham Off Cuts 300g

£4.60 £3.68

The Black Farmer ham off cuts are the trimmings of ham that is produced from the back leg of the pig. The meat is lean, flavoursome and very versatile. Expert producers cure the ham on the bone for two weeks before deboning and drying the joint by hanging in the fridge. Off cuts are a by product of traditional butchery. They are superb value for money and a sustainable choice.

Ham off cuts are an easy way to add seasoning, colour and texture to a wide range of sauces. We love using them in sandwiches. Make a pile of ham on buttered, crusty bread. Add thick slices of cheddar, cucumber and spread tangy chutney or pickle over the other slice. You can also use this ham in coleslaws and celeriac salads.

Product photography is representative only.  As these products are freshly butchered for your order, sizes and thicknesses may vary.  Weights and portions will be as stated.

STORAGE ADVICE To ensure the optimal freshness and flavor of your Wiltshire Ham Off Cuts 300g, we recommend following these storage guidelines:

Refrigeration: Upon receiving your ham off cuts, promptly store them in the refrigerator at a temperature between 32°F (0°C) and 40°F (4°C). This will help maintain their quality and prevent any potential spoilage.

Packaging: If the ham off cuts are in an unopened vacuum-sealed package, you can store them directly as is. However, if the package has been opened, transfer the remaining ham to an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil.

Airtight Container: Using an airtight container helps prevent moisture and odors from affecting the ham off cuts. Ensure the container is clean and properly sealed to maintain freshness.

Avoid Cross-Contamination: If storing other food items in the same refrigerator, make sure to separate them from the ham off cuts to prevent cross-contamination. Store the ham off cuts on a separate shelf or in a designated area.

Use-By Date: Check the “Use-By” or “Best Before” date on the packaging and consume the ham off cuts before this date for the best quality and flavor. If the ham off cuts have exceeded the recommended date, it is advisable to discard them.

By following these storage recommendations, you can prolong the shelf life of your Wiltshire Ham Off Cuts 300g and enjoy their delicious taste for an extended period.

PACKAGING This pack contains 300g Ham Off Cuts.
Your item will arrive in a 100% recycled box lovingly packed with FSC-certified shredded spruce from Britain and Sweden, natural sheep’s wool insulation and non-toxic chilled gel packs, all of which can be reused, composted or recycled. To recycle the gel packs, simply cut a corner and dispose of the contents through your normal domestic waste system, as the gel isn’t harmful to the environment. Better still, reuse them by storing in the freezer and chilling other products. The only component from our packaging that can’t be recycled are the foil liners which need to be go in household waste; the poly bags meat comes in needs to go in plastic recycling.

Pan-Frying: Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of cooking oil or butter to the pan. Place the ham off cuts in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are heated through and lightly browned.

Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the ham off cuts with a little olive oil or marinade if desired. Place them on the grill grates and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until heated through and grill marks appear.

Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the ham off cuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes or until the ham is heated through and slightly browned.

Microwaving: Transfer the ham off cuts to a microwave-safe dish. Cover the dish with a microwave-safe lid or microwave-safe plastic wrap, leaving a small vent for steam to escape. Heat on medium-high power for 1-2 minutes, stirring or flipping the ham halfway through, until it reaches the desired temperature.

Remember, since the ham off cuts are already cooked, the primary goal is to reheat them thoroughly without overcooking. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the cuts and your preferred level of warmth. Always check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer, and ensure it reaches at least 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
