Handmade from grass fed British lamb, these Lamb Coriander and Garlic Kofta are bursting with authentic flavours. Koftas are a great addition to any barbecue and make amazing kebabs.

The mild spicing of our lamb coriander and garlic koftas makes them suitable for the whole family. They have a high meat content and are juicy, flavoursome and satisfying. We have combined the classic flavours of lamb, coriander and garlic to make something a bit special. Simply grilled, they are perfect for a quick lunch. Serve with flatbread or pitta alongside tzatziki and spicy rice.

 

When creating our recipes, we start by sourcing the best-quality local lamb. We then select the best cuts, so the fat content is just right. This means our lamb coriander and garlic koftas are full-flavoured and juicy. Once we have perfected the meat, we turn our attention to the seasoning. Our koftas have all the savoury, mildly spicy flavours you want, with just the right amount of salt and pepper. We have worked very hard to make the perfect lamb kofta, so all you have to do is grill it to perfection.

 

The Black Farmer have been works with the best local suppliers. We source highest-quality lamb from the South West of England, which is fed on grass and free to graze the lush fields that abound in the area. By working with local produce and farmers, we promote and encourage a sustainable and ethical approach to meat eating, which reduces animal stress and lowers food miles as much as possible.

 

The Black Farmer lamb coriander and garlic kofta are also suitable for home freezing, if you can resist the temptation to cook them immediately. Make sure that you defrost the meat slowly and thoroughly before cooking. The easiest way is simply to leave in the fridge overnight.

Kofta cooking instructions:

Ingredients

  • 500g lamb mince
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 fat garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbsp chopped mint
  • oil for brushing

Method

  • STEP 1

    Mix together all the ingredients until well blended. Divide into eight balls, then roll each ball on a board with a cupped hand to turn them into ovals. Thread onto four metal skewers and brush with oil.

  • STEP 2

    To cook on a griddle: heat the pan until you can feel a good heat rising and cook for 3-4 mins each side. Don’t turn until they are well sealed or the meat will stick to the grill or pan.

  • STEP 3

    Season if you want, and set aside. Serve the koftas with yoghurt and spiced flat breads.

     

This product has a shelf life of 5 days from the date of delivery.
