STORAGE ADVICE To maximize the freshness and quality of okra, it’s crucial to store it properly. Begin by placing fresh okra in a perforated plastic bag or a produce bag with small holes to maintain optimal airflow while preventing excess moisture. Store the bag of okra in the vegetable crisper drawer of your refrigerator, where the temperature is slightly cooler than the rest of the fridge. Ensure that the okra is dry before storing, as moisture can accelerate spoilage. For longer shelf life, refrain from washing the okra until you’re ready to use it, as dampness can lead to a faster decay. Regularly check the okra for any signs of softness or discoloration, removing any compromised pieces promptly to preserve the overall quality of the batch. Following these storage guidelines will help keep your okra fresh and crisp for an extended period.
