Ginger has a plethora of health benefits. From warding off disease through certain chemicals present in fresh ginger to promoting oral health and hygiene, ginger is a healthy choice. It can also calm nausea and soothe sore muscles, as well as lowering blood sugar, cholesterol and indigestion. With these benefits to the body and the brain, it’s hardly surprising that ginger is hailed a superfood.
The beauty of fresh ginger is that it can be used in both sweet and savoury recipes – from a tempting ginger cake to a quick stir fry.
Why not try chopping some pork tenderloin into bite sized pieces, stir fry in a small amount of oil until browned all over. Add your favourite veg cut into batons and a thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, cut into very fine strips. Stir fry until the meat is thoroughly cooked and the veg still with a little bite. Add quick rice or noodles to serve. You will not be disappointed!
