STORAGE ADVICE For premium aged fillet steak, it’s essential to store it correctly to preserve its quality and flavour. Keep the steak in its original packaging or wrap it tightly in cling film to shield it from air exposure and prevent freezer burn. Store it in the coldest section of your refrigerator or freezer, maintaining a consistent temperature of 0°C to 4°C (32°F to 40°F) for refrigeration and -18°C (0°F) or below for freezing. If you intend to freeze it for an extended period, consider vacuum-sealing it for extra protection. Always defrost frozen steak in the refrigerator to maintain its texture and juiciness. With proper storage, your premium aged fillet steak will retain its tenderness and delicious flavour when cooked.

Your item will arrive in a 100% recycled box lovingly packed with FSC-certified shredded spruce from Britain and Sweden, natural sheep’s wool insulation and non-toxic chilled gel packs, all of which can be reused, composted or recycled. To recycle the gel packs, simply cut a corner and dispose of the contents through your normal domestic waste system, as the gel isn’t harmful to the environment. Better still, reuse them by storing in the freezer and chilling other products. The only component from our packaging that can’t be recycled are the foil liners which need to be go in household waste; the poly bags meat comes in needs to go in plastic recycling.

Cooking suggestion for Fillet Steak Premium Aged.

  1. Preparation: Remove the steak from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature. This ensures even cooking.
  2. Seasoning: Pat the steak dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides. If you like, you can add minced garlic and chopped fresh herbs for extra flavor.
  3. Preheat: Preheat your grill or a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure the cooking surface is hot before adding the steak.
  4. Cooking: Drizzle a bit of olive oil or melt butter in the skillet/grill. Carefully place the seasoned steak onto the hot surface. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your desired level of doneness. Use tongs to flip the steak only once.
  5. Resting: Once cooked to your preference, remove the steak from the heat and transfer it to a cutting board. Allow it to rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy steak.
  6. Serving: After resting, slice the steak against the grain to ensure tenderness. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
