A top tip is to dust the pieces lightly in flour, before browning off in a little butter. This will add colour, flavour and body to the finished dish. This preparation is also ideal for beef shish kebabs. Marinate in your favourite spices and skewer with onion and green peppers. Serve with warm flatbreads, chilli sauce, shredded lettuce and tzatziki. As you can tell, there are plenty of great reasons to add diced beef to your basket.
We source local meat from farms in Wiltshire, Somerset and the South West. The Black Farmer makes sure that we get the absolute best and most sustainable breeds for the season. Our free range cows feed on grass and lead happy lives in the great British countryside. By working with local produce and farmers, we promote and encourage a sustainable and ethical approach to meat eating. This reduces animal stress and lowers food miles as much as possible.
Even the best meat still requires expert preparation, so we work with master butchers who ensure our diced beef is in perfect condition. They also use their experience to cut the pieces to uniform size. This is not merely to make it look pretty on a skewer but also to ensure that they cook evenly. We go to this extra effort to maintain the premium quality you have come to expect from The Black Farmer.
Our lean diced beef is suitable for freezing at home. If you choose to freeze it for later, make sure to leave plenty of time for it to thaw properly. The easiest way is to pop it in the fridge overnight.
Cook slowly on the hob, on a low heat until tender. Just before serving thicken with flour or corn flour. Place browned meat in oven dish with lid on. Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 1, 275°F (140°C) and cook for about 2 / 3 hours.
