Chicken Feet (1kg)

Please Note: Our chicken feet may arrive with dark spots, nails and hair.

Rest assured, this is not an indication of dirtiness. To maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of bacteria, we utilise a feather-burning process. This process, while effective, can result in dark spots on the chicken feet. We prioritise the safety and cleanliness of our products, and we appreciate your understanding.

Details Incredibly versatile, chicken feet are a staple of Asian street food, can be eaten as an alternative to chicken wings or simply as a base for making a rich stock.

At The Black Farmer, we proudly offer Chicken Feet. Sourced from ethically raised chickens, with their gelatinous texture and rich collagen content, these little delicacies are perfect for creating nourishing stocks, broths, and soups. They infuse your dishes with a deep, savoury flavour that will elevate your culinary adventures to new heights. Whether you’re exploring traditional recipes or experimenting with international cuisines, our Chicken Feet are a must-have for any passionate cook.

SHELF LIFE 5 days from date of delivery
While we’d be surprised if you could resist the temptation to enjoy immediately, please keep refridgerated unless you intend to eat it right away! Otherwise all our quality meat is suitable for freezing to preserve its taste and texture, meaning you can cook and serve it when you fancy.
Once it’s been frozen, please thaw your meat slowly and thoroughly, ideally in the fridge overnight.
We vacuum-pack our meat to naturally extend its freshness and make it suitable for home-freezing.
This pack contains approximately 1kg of chicken feet.
Your item will arrive in a 100% recycled box lovingly packed with FSC-certified shredded spruce from Britain and Sweden, natural sheep’s wool insulation and non-toxic chilled gel packs, all of which can be reused, composted or recycled.
To recycle the gel packs, simply cut a corner and dispose of the contents through your normal domestic waste system, as the gel isn’t harmful to the environment.
Better still, reuse them by storing in the freezer and chilling other products.
The only component from our packaging that can’t be recycled are the foil liners which need to be go in household waste; the poly bags meat comes in in need to go in plastic recycling.

  • 1 pound chicken feet
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

  1. Cleaning the chicken feet:
    • Rinse the chicken feet thoroughly under cold running water.
    • Use a sharp knife to trim and discard the nails.
    • Place the chicken feet in a large pot, cover them with water, and bring to a boil.
    • Boil for about 3-5 minutes, then drain the chicken feet.
  2. Preparing the sauce:
    • In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, grated ginger, and chili flakes (if desired). Mix well and set aside.
  3. Cooking the chicken feet:
    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant and lightly browned.
    • Add the chicken feet to the skillet and stir-fry for a few minutes, allowing them to brown slightly.
    • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken feet, and stir to coat them evenly.
    • Add 2 cups of water to the skillet, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for about 1.5 to 2 hours until the chicken feet become tender. Stir occasionally and add more water if needed.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serving:
    • Once the chicken feet are tender and the sauce has thickened, remove them from the heat.
    • Transfer the chicken feet to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
    • Serve hot as an appetizer or as part of a main course with steamed rice or noodles.

Note: Chicken feet can take a while to cook and become tender, so be patient and adjust the cooking time as needed. Additionally, feel free to add or adjust the seasonings and spices according to your taste preferences.
