Fantastic news, The Black Farmer has been awarded three gold medals at the 2010 Taste Awards – one each for whole Organic chicken, Hickory Smoked Back Bacon and Pork & Leek Freedom Food outdoor bred gluten free sausages.

This is great news for the brand and puts the spotlight on some of my products that are absolutely delicious but less well known than my Premium Pork sausages

The judges offered some insight into their decisions to award Gold with the following comments:

The Black Farmer Organic chicken: (Available from Ocado). ‘Well flavoured and meaty, this chicken is a quality bird with tender flesh’

The Black Farmer Hickory Smoked back bacon: (Available from Morrisons). ‘Lovely appearance with no residue in the pan. Nice colour. Good tender texture. Good full hickory smoke flavour.’

The Black Farmer Pork & Leek sausages: (Available from Budgens). ‘Nice and peppery, good flavour, can taste the leek.’
